Want to learn how to play the bass guitar? Well, playing bass guitar is way much easier than any other instrument since it is simpler than any other else. If you’re a beginner and you don’t have an idea how to play it then I suggest that you do it step by step. Note after note, to avoid confusions.

Fretted bass guitar can give a lot more help since it makes the memorizing much mechanical and easy.

First thing to do before holding your bass guitar is to exercise your fingers. Flexibility is needed to achieve good playing. First, relax your fingers. Lift your hands 90 degrees from the floor, and then try moving your fingers upward one by one. At first, you may be slow in doing this but you’ll get used to it eventually. The hands you are to exercise will be the hand you use when you play the guitar.

After doing this exercise, you may now hold your bass guitar and position your hands on the strings respectively. Remember that the strings should be facing away from you, and you must notice the slope on the body of the bass guitar. Place the guitar on your right thigh.

When holding the bass guitar you use your left hand, and place your thumb on the strings halfway between the strings called E strings. After that, you now put your middle finger and index finger on the D string. The D string is about two strings down the D string, if you are still unfamiliar of notes. Pluck each of the strings in series. Though it’s not easy, it will be more comfortable afterwards.
