Guitarists and those whose interest were mostly guitars have long been arguing whether acoustic guitars are better than electric guitars or it the other way around. But what they don’t know is that neither is better than the other one. Both depend on their players, on how good they are when playing guitar and their expertise on handling the said instrument.
But to set the record straight, here are some facts about Acoustic Guitar and Electric Guitar:
ELECTRIC GUITARS
Electric Guitars have their advantage and disadvantages. When you play it unplugged, the notes can barely be heard. But if you plug it, it will assure you loud notes to be played. It has six strings, lighter than Acoustic Guitars, and it will cause you less calluses. The neck is also easier to hold since it is narrower than Acoustic Guitars.
ACOUSTIC GUITARS
Also known as the “classic guitar”, and is appropriate if you prefer “just-for-me” playing. Since it’s not electrically plugged, its sound volume depends on how you strum the strings. It also has six strings, and its body is much hollowed than electric ones. Since it’s strings are made of steel, might give your fingers calluses.
Usually, beginners use this kind of guitar since it’s much cheaper than electric guitars.
